Hoo Rah
Joe and I went to the USMC ball with no expectations, but we left with the utmost respect and high regards for all things Marine! The Marines celebrate their birthday once a year with pomp, grander, and they don't mess around!

Gone to Texas
I went to Texas for several reasons:
1. To walk for breast cancer and celebrate the brave women who have fought it and are still fighting.
2. To see this little guy.
3. To celebrate the fabulous bride-to-be Megan!
4. To see my family and all the familiar things I miss!
5. To shower the cutest mom-to-be ever!
6. These are a few reasons I love going to Texas:
7. And this is the reason I love coming home!

the back of your hand
Welcome to Asheville, NC...
Where the leaves are golden, the air crisp, the smell of patchouli fills the air, and where this young couple celebrated their first anniversary.

Sarah, "lets take a hike," thinking to herself that it would be a stroll through a field of trees and later finding out it was uphill and rocky and I'm not a hiker.
There are so many quaint little restaurants with huge appeal. We found this place after I saw the jars from the street. They infuse their own vodkas and tequila. It was the cutest little place and I especially loved the cute look on Joe's face after he drank the habarnaro infused bloody mary.
The view from our perfect hotel. The Grove Park Inn is a treasure in the mountains. The minute you walk in you are sucked into its warm and cozy ambiance.
The spa was the single most relaxing experience. I especially loved the iced peppermint towels for the steam room and the outdoor fireplaces to cozy up and read by, as well as mineral pools and therapeutic waterfalls. It was just like being in an underground world of our own.

And did I mention the robes? Joe is just doing a little light reading and enjoying robe life.

My favorite moment of the weekend didn't happen by the spa or in the mountains but rather in the parking garage. We played our 1st dance song and allowed Dwight Yoakam to transport us back to October 11, 2008. It was a wonderful anniversary trip shared with my favorite husband!

Sweet Savannah
Savannah is my new favorite place to visit! It is the quintessential southern town with its moss, mystery, and mood! With our house unpacked and not a thing to do, we headed east to Savannah which is also known as the most haunted US city. There are pirates, Civil War stories, and even a haunted cemetery! You never know what is waiting around the corner in this southern sanctuary! One of my favorite parts of the trip was seeing the old houses that have been restored and act as homes, businesses, and offer tours. Some of these houses even date back to 1800 and survived the Civil War! (history nerd 12:00)
Some of the highlights from the trip include:
MINT JULEPS
SCARY GHOST TOURS
PAULA DEEN'S RESTAURANT...SOOOOOO GOOD!
QUAINT OLD MANSIONS
GEORGIA BEACHES
And this is what we came home to...
